If you want to find out what is causing your back pain then it will be necessary to undergo all the necessary tests.  During the course of our normal lives there are certain minor causes of back pain.  For example, sleeping in an awkward position can cause back pain.  This is not serious because by the end of the day the pain will have eased because muscles will have settled.  A reason that over time could prove to be more serious is if we use a chair for many hours a day that allows us to slouch over our desks.  This will lead to a very bad posture and this will lead to back pain. 

There are many activities that we take part in on a regular basis that could lead to injuries.  If we play a sport there is always the risk of an injury.  There are muscles in the back that can become twisted or strained and this will cause a lot of pain.  If a muscle is torn it can be excruciating.  It is possible to pull the muscles in the back by playing games such as tennis and hockey.  It is also possible to fall flat and injure the bones of the back.  These bones could be shoulder blades or the hips.

Of course, if bones are fractured in the back there will be pain.  Once these bones have healed over a certain amount of time the pain should disappear completely.  It is when no cause can be found that it is harder to find a suitable treatment.  Nobody wants to have back injuries especially an injury to the spine.  The spine is a fragile structure of many bones or vertebrate that once broken cannot be mended.  There are certain sports such as horse riding that requires the wearing of a special vest.  The vest is padded and is especially to protect the back or spine from injury if the rider should fall off the horse. 

Back pain could be an indication of a lung disease.  For example, pneumonia is a very serious condition and one of the symptoms is pain in the back.  The lungs are in the rib cage and so pain can be felt in the chest as well.  If you are feeling back pain it could be due to a number of lung conditions.  A common flu virus can cause back pain if it affects the lungs.  Any lung condition must be taken care of because it could become a lot worse in a short time.  This is why it is important to be aware of the reactions of your body.    

A flu virus can also be present in the stomach.  This will result in back pain.  It is normal for stomach flu to last about twenty four hours.  The pain in your back should also subside.  If you ever experience back pain with a fever then you must see a doctor as soon as possible.  There are causes of back pain that are serious while others are more ordinary.  It is your responsibility to ensure that you get the right treatment.
